To change transport towards a sustainable pathway we, as GIZ, work with an international team of 100 experts with a current project portfolio of 110 million Euros in around 25 projects in 30 countries. We support decision-makers in emerging and developing countries to facilitate climate action in transport through training and consulting services, as well as by connecting stakeholders. We are glad that several funders support our work; including, amongst others, the International Climate Initiative of the German Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMU).
On a daily basis, we give our best to support our partners in defining low carbon transport strategies, implementing climate actions to reduce emissions and harnessing the many benefits sustainable transport is offering; with the ultimate goal to keep global temperature change to below 2 degrees Celsius.

Project Director
Based in Bangkok, Thailand
According to Marchetti’s constant the travel time budget is one of the most stable mobility parameters globally and over time and is around one to one and a half hours / day. However, what has not stayed unchanging over the last centuries, but has deteriorated leading to alarming sustainability and climate concerns is the environmental and carbon footprint of individual mobility as well as goods transport, worldwide. The challenge is on!
Since November 2020 I joined the sustainable transport team in Bangkok leading the TRANSfer country component Thailand as well as the SMMR ASEAN project. From 2016 to 2020, I was working for the Sino-German Cooperation on Low Carbon Transport, closely advising the German Environmental Ministry (BMU). Prior to GIZ, I worked at the German Institute for Economic Research (DIW) Berlin and the German Energy Agency (dena), doing research, assessment and consultancy in the fields of travel demand and behavior modelling, energy use and transformation, as well as emission reduction and efficiency improvement. With a doctorate degree from the Technical University (TU) Berlin on “Integration of passenger (road) travel into a computable general equilibrium model for Germany” I’m passionate about the macro and micro level interactions of economic and environmental systems, individual behavior and policy design.

Intern,
based in Berlin, Germany
In May 2021, I joined the PtX Hub Berlin as an intern. In the coming months, I will be supporting the team for the Green Hydrogen and PtX trainings. I’m holding a master’s degree in international economics from the Berlin School of Economics and Law. During my studies I dealt with socio-economic and ecological sustainability issues and the green transition of the German automobile industry. After my graduation, I have collected prior working experience in the UNECE.
Climate change is a multi-faceted issue that all of us are facing. I believe that only an approach taking all the different aspects into consideration can tackle this challenge. Green hydrogen addresses the ecological angle, taking advantage of environmental prerequisites of the location it’s being applied to while simultaneously taking social aspects into consideration. This can lead to an overall improvement of the environmental, social and eventually economic situation in many regions worldwide.
I am happy to join the PtX Team and contribute to the spread of knowledge about green hydrogen around the world while simultaneously learning a lot every day myself.

Starting as an intern at MobiliseYourCity in mid-July offers a great opportunity for me to combine two areas of strong interest, which shaped my studies of political science: environmental governance and gender. In transforming how people move in a city, these two topics are inevitably intertwined.
My specific interest for urban mobility was certainly shaped during my work as a flight attendant next to studying. It gave me the opportunity to see so many different cities all over the world – an experience that made me constantly question the differing realities of people, depending on the city they are living in.
Finishing my bachelor’s degree from Ludwig-Maximilians-University in Munich and Sciences Po Toulouse, I aimed to gain some experience in an area that tackles this question.
Hence, I am excited to join the MobiliseYourCity team and to support the capacity building of the partnership.

Intern,
based in Berlin, Germany
I am happy to contribute to the many interesting activities of the PtX Hub Berlin as an intern since May 2021.
From my point of view, the major challenge of the energy sector is the transition to a decarbonised energy system while meeting the demand of all economic activities and ensuring energy security. To achieve this ambitious goal, it is necessary to develop full sector coupling through the integration of low-carbon solutions and innovations such as renewable energies and the application of Power-to-X and hydrogen pathways.
I hold a Master’s degree in Renewable Energy Management from the TH Köln. Previous to working at the PtX Hub and while doing my master’s, I worked at the EHI Retail Institute in Cologne, contributing to studies related to electromobility and energy management with a focus on retail. Before coming to Germany, I have studied and worked in the field of Industrial Engineering in my home country, Argentina.
With much enthusiasm, I look ahead to the coming months to contribute to the successful implementation of the planned activities.
