Director of TranSIT project

Isabel von Griesheim is currently the Director of the Transition to an Integrated and Intelligent Public Transport System (TranSIT) project, a new project of the German Development Cooperation (GIZ) in Mexico to promote an intelligent, inclusive and climate-friendly public transport system in Mexico.
She has worked for this organization for ten years on various topics and in different countries. Between 2019 and 2021, she was the regional director of two energy projects in Central America, focusing on promoting electromobility. In 2015, she worked as an advisor for global projects on climate change mitigation and climate financing, focusing on emissions trading. She started her career at GIZ as a Project Manager for the climate and energy portfolio in Brussels, Belgium.
Before joining GIZ, she also worked at the European Parliament and the Konrad Adenauer Foundation. She has a Master’s degree in International Political Economy from the London School of Economics (LSE) and a Master’s degree in Public Management from the Institute of Political Studies in Paris (Sciences Po Paris).
