Just Transition

In the pursuit of a just transition to sustainable transport, we are addressing several important issues. The COVID-19 pandemic has had a profound impact on transport systems, highlighting the need for resilient and adaptable mobility solutions. We also recognise the importance of integrating a gender perspective into transport planning and decision-making processes to ensure equitable access and to address women’s specific needs and challenges. Job creation and transition of transport workers are key considerations as we aim to promote sustainable employment opportunities and facilitate the shift to more environmentally friendly modes of transport. Furthermore, the active participation of all stakeholders, including local communities and marginalised groups, is essential for inclusive and democratic decision-making processes in the transport sector.
