Sebastian Ibold

Position: Project Director
Location: Morocco, Agadir

I am currently serving as the sustainable mobility team leader at GIZ in Morocco, where we support our partners in their ambitions to make transport and mobility more sustainable, inclusive, and climate-friendly. Before joining GIZ Morocco in January 2023, I was serving at GIZ in China, heading the Sino-German Cooperation on Low Carbon Transport (CLCT) project and coordinating the China activities of the NDC Transport Initiative for Asia (NDC-TIA) project. As a trained urban planner and designer, I am passionate about how cities shape society and the other way around. Before joining GIZ in 2017, I worked for American Aecom and German ISA and AS+P, where I was involved in projects in the fields of strategic and master planning, new town and urban redevelopment, and urban renewal in China, Germany, and the Middle East. I hold a Master of Science degree in urban and regional planning from the Brandenburg University of Technology (BTU).
