I joined GIZ in 2020 supporting projects within the Energy, Transport and Climate Change Cluster in Kenya. While recognizing the challenges facing urban communities in Kenya resulting from vehicular emissions, implementing sustainable mobility remains the salient option. The IMPROVE project is pivotal in achieving the national climate ambitions on emissions reduction in line with the Country’s NDC commitment of a 32% reduction by 2030. I aim to utilize my background in energy engineering, and urban transportation and sustainability in mainstreaming sector-coupling strategies for the achievement of the land transport-related climate targets for Kenya.
