After building my professional experience in the European Institutions for 13 years, I joined the Changing Transport team in Bonn in 2023 as technical advisor with a special focus on the partner country, Morocco. The European Union is very much engaged in transforming the transport sector and lower emissions in order to become the first climate neutral continent by 2050. Despite having 27 countries with different approaches, the EU managed to build consensus around this common goal and I want to believe that such ambition can be replicated in the global world.
Growing in a remoted village in France deprived of functioning public transport infrastructures which changed over time to become an attractive place with a road cycling route, I saw how offering accessible and sustainable transport to all could contribute to social cohesion, in addition to being better for the planet and the public health.
