Measures for reducing greenhouse gas emissions from motor air conditioning in China

After summarising the categories and sources of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from mobile air conditioning (MAC), this paper engages with how to improve MAC energy efficiency. The state of development and challenges of introducing advanced MAC technologies and refrigerants in China are also explored, as are international experiences and best practices, with a focus on the regulations and policies for reducing GHG emissions from MAC in the United States and Europe. Finally, the authors offer policy recommendations for future regulation of GHG emissions from MAC in China.
