Alejandra has a degree in Earth Sciences with a focus on Environmental Sciences from the Faculty of Sciences of the UNAM. She has worked on research projects in biological conservation and environmental monitoring, with an emphasis on pollutants and geochemical markers in various environmental matrices. She was a collaborator of the Climate Change Research Program of the UNAM (2024-2025) and the Global CitiesAdapt project (2025) of the German Technical Cooperation (GIZ) Mexico on issues of Green Infrastructure and Adaptation to Climate Change.

Angélica has a degree in International Relations from the Tecnológico de Monterrey, with focus on International Cooperation for Development.

In 2023, she joined the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC Mexico), where she worked as a communication intern in the “Agents of Change” project, focused on the fight against human trafficking in indigenous and Afro-Mexican communities.

In February 2024 she joined the German Technical Cooperation (GIZ Mexico) as an intern in Communication and Monitoring, contributing to the Project “Transition to an Integrated and Intelligent Public Transport System in Mexico (TranSIT)” in the Sustainable Cities and Transport Program.

Carlos has a degree in Biology from the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana, a master’s degree in Sustainability Sciences from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México. He served for six years as Deputy Manager of Engineering, in the Electric Transport Service of Mexico City, where he participated in the planning and review of infrastructure and transportation technology projects such as: Trolleybus, Light Rail and Cablebus.

Rosaura holds a Master of Science from the Institute of Marine Sciences and Limnology of the UNAM.

She has over 20 years of experience working in the environmental sector with academia (environmental education and curatorship of interactive and scientific dissemination museums), federal public sector (in planning issues such as environmental impact assessment and ecological planning) and private sector (as a consultant for private companies and worked in environmental management of tourism developments).

Since 2018 she works with International Cooperation on projects in Mexico, Central America and the Dominican Republic, on the environmental and urban agenda such as climate change adaptation, nature-based solutions, waste management, circular economy and prevention of marine plastic pollution.

Position: Component Lead, Focal Point for Relations with the Private Sector

Gerardo holds a master’s degree in Urban Studies from the Colegio de México and an architect from the UNAM. He has more than 10 years of experience in climate change development, planning and sustainable urban mobility.

Since 2019, he has been working GIZ from where he has promoted the climate agenda in terms of mobility and road safety, sustainable financing, gender perspective and climate change adaptation. The above from the approach of good governance and human rights to guarantee the sustainability of the projects.

Among the technical processes that he has promoted is the General Law of Mobility and Road Safety, the strengthening of the Urban Improvement Program of SEDATU and the Tulum Active Mobility Plan.

Position: Technical Coordinator

Auribel  has been at GIZ for 8 years in projects related to climate change mitigation and adaptation in cities and on the integration of ecosystem services in urban planning.

Previously, she has worked in the federal government and as a consultant for the Passenger Transport Network of Mexico City. She has also coordinated the transport and mobility sections of various planning instruments and has taught in the transportation engineering career at the Mexico City Autonomous University (UACM)

She holds a bachelor degree in Architecture and a master’s degree in Comparative Public Policy. She has taken doctoral studies in urban planning.

Benedikt is in charge of the planning and financing of mobility projects pillar of MOVERSE. He has been at GIZ for 7 years, accumulated in several countries with a focus on the area of good governance at various levels of state organization. He has specialized in topics such as citizen participation, innovation in the public sector and the provision of public services, among others.

Prior to his time at GIZ, Benedikt gained work experience in various international/intergovernmental organizations, the German government, and political and environmental foundations. He is a Geographer (University of Heidelberg, Germany) and holds a master’s degree in Peace and Conflict Studies from Uppsala University (Sweden).

Position: Transport Advisor

I am a transport advisor for the German Development Cooperation (GIZ) in Mexico, where I collaborate on the Transition to an Integrated and Intelligent Public Transport System (TranSIT) and Urban Infrastructure for Green and Safe Mobility (Moverse) projects. I serve as focal point for the State of Mexico, where I have implemented various pilot projects in areas such as e-mobility, gender perspective, digitalisation, and emission reduction. I am also part of the private sector working group, fostering synergies with GIZ Mexico, and act as focal point with the Railway Transport Regulatory Agency for passenger train projects in Mexico.

Before joining GIZ Mexico, I worked for over nine years in senior positions within the state public administration, leading projects related to public policy design, transport modernization, urban mobility strategies, and data analysis.
