Organised by:

Objective

Transport is one of the greatest enablers of Africa's economic development, connecting farmers to markets, workers to jobs, and countries to one another. It is also a foundation for regional integration and shared prosperity under AU Agenda 2063 and the African Continental Free Trade Area.

Over the past two years, the Rethinking Transport Initiative, led by GIZ in partnership with Agora Verkehrswende, has brought together African stakeholders from academia, civil society and the private sector in the Rethinking Transport Labs. Together, they identified the key strategies and opportunities to accelerate the transition to sustainable transport in Africa.

These turning points are now presented in the flagship publication "Turning Points: Enabling Sustainable Transport in Africa." Join us for the launch webinar, where we'll walk through the twelve turning points and what sets them apart from a standard policy list: progress on one creates the conditions for others to emerge, and none needs to be fully in place before the next can begin. We'll also look at what a possible strategic pathway through 2035 and beyond could look like.
