Objective

Transport is one of the greatest enablers of Africa's economic development, connecting farmers to markets, workers to jobs, and countries to one another. It is also a foundation for regional integration and shared prosperity under African Union Agenda 2063 and the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).

Over the past two years, the Rethinking Transport Initiative, led by GIZ in partnership with Agora Verkehrswende, has convened African stakeholders from academia, civil society and the private sector to identify key turning points that would advance sustainable transport across the continent. These 'turning points' refer to critical moments, decisions and events that could significantly influence the progress of sustainable transport.

Join us for the webinar as we walk you through these turning points, their development process, and how stakeholders and institutions can take them forward.
