What are the current developments and perspectives of electric vehicles in China? How significant are these developments for Germany as a leading supplier and market for electric mobility?
In the last decade, China has not only become one of the most important markets for electric mobility, it has also established itself in the field of relevant vehicle and component value creation. This has unlocked many opportunities for sustainable and clean transportation. In this talk we will look at the current state of electric mobility in China and future developments, especially in the context of China's 14th Five-Year Plan, which covers the years 2021 to 2025 and its ambitious climate goals, announced by President Xi Jinping in September 2020, of achieving peak emissions before 2030 and carbon neutrality by 2060.

Hui He is the China Regional Director of the California-based International Council on Clean Transportation (ICCT). Her areas of expertise are efficiency and emission regulations for light-duty and heavy-duty vehicles, and vehicle electrification policies in China. She is one of the main authors of the report Driving a green future: A retrospective review of China’s electric vehicle development, which summarizes the development of electric mobility over the last ten years and formulates guidelines for the future. The conversation will be led by Christian Hochfeld, the director of Agora Verkehrswende
