Victor Valente

Position: Project Manager and Transport Policy Advisor
Location: Germany, Eschborn

Since March 2020 I am part of the GIZ Changing Transport Team. My current job is to support National Urban Mobility Policies in Latin American countries as well as to develop and implement several Pilot Initiatives together with our partners in the scope of Moving Chile, the TUMIVolt and EUROCLIMA Programmes.

My academic background is Environmental Engineering, which I complemented with a Master’s Degree in Energy Planning and a Diploma in Entrepreneurial Management. After having worked in several energy related programs at GIZ Brazil from 2009 to 2015, I joined the German Development Bank KfW, where I was responsible for the local coordination of all sanitation and urban mobility related financing activities in Brazil, before moving back to GIZ in the beginning of last year. I am a father of a little girl and a boy and I hope that by the time they grew up, they will be able to travel in a safe and zero emission public transport system in any major Latin American city. Let’s change transport? I’m in!
