Nicolas Becker

Position: Student Assistant
Location: Germany, Bonn

I joined GIZ’s Transport and Climate Change team at the beginning of this year as a student assistant, working in the field of Natural Language Understanding and Processing in the context of Transport and Climate Policy. In parallel, I am finishing my master’s degree in Industrial Engineering at KIT in Karlsruhe, where I particularly focused on the topics of simulation, machine learning and mobility. Previously, I worked as a student assistant for KIT’s chair for Economic Policy as well as for the Data Science team of Mercedes-Benz Tech Innovation.

With a background in Europe and Latin America, I am passionate about integrated approaches to fight climate change, which actively involve all people affected by all actions taken. I am glad to be contributing to the transformation of the transport sector towards a sustainable future!
