Marie Goss

Position: Intern
Location: Republic of the Marshall Islands, Majuro

I hold a Master’s degree in International Governance and Diplomacy from Sciences Po Paris and a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations and Management from the University of Applied Sciences Regensburg and Columbia University in the City of New York. During my studies, I focused on sustainability and environmental policies – on local, national and international level.

My professional experience includes working in the public sector – for instance for the German Embassy in Azerbaijan, supporting the German delegation at COP29, or for a Member of the European Parliament. Besides, I worked on decarbonising heavily emitting sectors – like cement and steel production or aviation and shipping – with the think tank Future Cleantech Architects.

I recently joined GIZ as an intern at the Low Carbon Sea Transport Project in the Marshall Islands where I hope to contribute to decarbonising the maritime sector in the Pacific region.
