Geovannie Johnson

Position: Technical Assistent
Location: Republic of the Marshall Islands, Majuro

Before working with the LCST Project, I was working as a local newspaper reporter and grew an interest in working the media. I enjoyed photography and working with different people from various organizations. It was through this job that I found out about the LCST Project.

Additionally, I worked with a non-governmental organization called Jo-Jikum that focuses on youth advocacy on topics such as nuclear legacy, healthy lifestyles, and the most obvious, climate change. It was through Jo Jikum that I developed a deeper understanding of climate change and a desire to have a job that helps against climate change. I have lived in the RMI since I was a child and I have seen the effects of climate change numerous times. I am excited to be part of the LCST Project team because it allows me to advocate and fight for my home.
