Fernando Rivera Hernandez

Position: Advisor
Location: Costa Rica, San José

I have a background as an electrical engineer, and over 28 years of experience in energy efficiency, energy management, and electric mobility in Latin America. I have worked on the design, development, and implementation of projects focused on the energy transition, including energy audits, development of energy management systems, technology studies, and business model analysis for sustainable solutions.

Throughout my career, I have collaborated with international organizations, public institutions, financial entities, and private companies in the implementation of energy efficiency initiatives and the electrification of transport.

I have participated in the analysis of the passenger transport ecosystem and in the development of roadmaps for the transition to electric buses, integrating technical, regulatory, financial, and institutional aspects.

I have also developed studies on fast and semi-fast electric charging infrastructure to support the electrification of different transport subsectors, including tourism.

I currently collaborate as a technical advisor in electromobility transition processes in Central America, supporting the transition of special transport in Costa Rica and the electrification of public transport in Panama.
