Growing up in Finland – the land of a thousand lakes – inspired me to pursue a Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering, with a specialization in Water Engineering. Through my studies and work experience in the water management industry, I have gained hands-on experience in construction projects, research, and the maintenance of water distribution networks, deepening my understanding of their role in sustainability and climate resilience.
Joining the LCST project in the Marshall Islands as an intern is an incredible opportunity to broaden my perspective beyond Europe and contribute to addressing a major challenge in the Pacific: decarbonising sea transport. I am eager to apply my technical background to support the development and testing of low-emission solutions, while learning from the Marshall Islands’ unique traditional knowledge and innovative practices.
