How Mobility Services can Become a Win-Win Solution in Ghana

Study

Mobility as a Service (MaaS) being part of an integrated transport system can reduce motorization growth and help shifting to electric vehicles. To identify and evaluate MaaS business opportunities for mobility providers in Greater Accra, Ghana, Transitec and Trufi implemented a market study on behalf of GIZ.

Passenger survey data and interviews with mobility providers and public stakeholders led to valuable insights. The study provides an in-depth analysis of the current status-quo on mobility services in Greater Accra, identifies business opportunities and provides recommendations for decision-makers based on different future scenarios. The results offer a starting point for private and public actors engaged in the field of mobility services to design policies and initiate business cases  promoting environmentally sustainable and socially inclusive mobility service solutions in the region. The study is a part of the projects SV Private Sector Cooperation and Strategic Partnership Technology in Africa (SPTA).
