This report summarises the main mechanisms identified with the potential to generate resources for sustainable urban mobility in San José, Costa Rica.
The research aims to determine funding and financing mechanisms with the potential to generate resources that can be used for sustainable urban mobility in the greater San José metropolitan area. Primary sources were consulted to identify these mechanisms, such as local experts who have participated in the drafting of laws and regulations, as well as interviews and focus groups with national and municipal authorities. The research was complemented by studies on international best practices and local studies on sustainable urban mobility and its current funding.

Este reporte resume los principales mecanismos identificados con potencial para generar recursos para la movilidad urbana sustentable en San José, Costa Rica.
La investigación pretende determinar mecanismos de fondeo y financiamiento con potencial para generar recursos que puedan ser destinados a la movilidad urbana sustentable en la gran área metropolitana de San José. Para la identificación de estos mecanismos se consultaron fuentes primarias, como personas expertas locales que han participado en la elaboración de leyes y reglamentos, así como entrevistas y grupos de enfoque con autoridades nacionales y municipales. La investigación fue complementada con estudios sobre mejores prácticas internacionales y estudios locales sobre movilidad urbana sustentable y su financiamiento actual.
