This guide draws lessons from the Climate Policy Initiative’s experience in developing national landscapes of general climate finance (not specifically targeted to transport) in several countries, including the ones listed above, throughout the past ten years. Even though it is not a comprehensive instruction manual, it aims to support policy makers and practitioners in tracking climate finance using CPI’s Landscape approach.
In this document, the process for developing a national climate finance landscape is outlined in four steps. Working through each step, countries will get key insights to how, when, and from whom finance is flowing towards general climate action.
