Malindi Msoni

Malindi Msoni is a transport economist and researcher driven by a clear recognition of the inequities embedded in transport systems across Africa. She challenges transport policies that disadvantage pedestrians, cyclists and commuters, advocating for people-centred mobility systems that are fair, accessible and clean. Some of her notable achievements include leading the establishment of Zambia’s Transport-Energy Database and spearheading the creation of Zambia’s Sustainable Urban Mobility Advisory Committee, a multi-stakeholder body advocating for the implementation of evidence-based sustainable transport initiatives. Her research spans several areas of sustainable transport, including decarbonisation, non-motorised transport and public transport. An Agora Verkehrswende Sustainable Transport Fellow, Malindi has spoken at several global and local forums, including the Global Challenges in Transport Leadership Programme at the University of Oxford.
